U.S. Route 47

U.S. Route 47 or U.S. Highway 47 (US 47) is a U.S. Highway running from southern California to northern Minnesota. Unlike most odd-numbered U.S. Routes, this road travels in a diagonal direction from southwest to northeast. Considerably, the southwestern terminus is a freeway in San Diego, California at Interstate 15 (I-15) and the northeastern terminus is in Canada City, Minnesota at Interstate 98 (I-98), which ends at the Canada-US Border becoming Ontario Highway 700, a Canadian road to Thunder Bay, Ontario. US 47 passes through the U.S. states of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

US 47 is the only two-digit odd-numbered route in the United States in the US 40s that travels farther to the west and the only one to run mostly in the northeast-southwest diagonal direction, making it one of the most famous unusual numbered highways in the country as most odd-numbered routes are usually traveling the north-south direction and the lower odd-numbered routes are in the eastern United States.

In Highway City, US 47 has many local street names and runs the northeast-southwest direction. In Intertropolis, it is Henderson Boulevard in the southwest side. Then it's Nanospore Avenue southwest near Downtown Intertropolis (concurrent with US 389), and West Downtown Boulevard in Downtown Intertropolis. Near the border between Intertropolis, Nevada and Routeville, Utah, US 47 is concurrent with US 86, where it is Utava Street, passing through the Town Separator at a klerkway interchange. In Routeville, it is East Downtown Boulevard in Downtown Routeville, and becomes Terrestrial Boulevard passing I-23. In the northeast side, US 47 runs parallel closely to the northeast tip of I-248 on its north.
