For the proposed future highway corridor in California that may take the I-7 designation, see Interstate 9.

Interstate 7 (I-7) is an intrastate Interstate Highway located entirely within the southern region of the U.S. state of California, stretching 238.01 miles (383.03 km) from Mexican Federal Highway 5 at the Mexico–US border in Calexico, north to Interstate 40 near Kelso south of the Mojave National Preserve. I-7 is a lonely rural north–south highway connecting to major small towns in the Imperial Valley (Imperial County) and the Mojave Desert (San Bernardino County) as a four-lane highway known as the Imperial Freeway. I-7 intersects other Interstate Highways including Interstate 8 near El Centro and Interstate 10 in Chiriaco Summit.

I-7 is one of two only Interstate Highways in California to have no city or town services, the other one is I-40. I-7 travels in three counties: Imperial, Riverside, and San Bernardino. It is known to have scenic views of the Southern California deserts and plains, with farms and fields being visible from the Interstate.
