Interstate 1 (I-1) is a part of the Interstate Highway System which parallels closely to the Pacific Ocean in the United States in California and Oregon. In California, I-1 begins at its southern terminus at Interstate 5 (I-5) in Dana Point, south of the Greater Los Angeles area. It also travels through the major coastal cities in California, including Long Beach, Santa Monica, Malibu, Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Morro Bay, Ooscondio, Nacimiento, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Golden Gate City, and Crescent City. After leaving Crescent City, I-1 turns inland heading northeast to Idlewood, then on its way to Oregon near O'Brien.
